Because our application is engineered with a strict client-side-first architecture, our data footprint is deliberately minimal.

Unlike traditional web applications, we do not require user accounts or cloud databases:

• No Account Credentials: We do not ask for, collect, or store usernames, passwords, or personal profile profiles.
• No Payment Information: Fantasy Map Creator is free to use; we do not collect credit cards or billing addresses.
• No Map Content: We never capture or upload the maps, seed numbers, settlement names, or project files you design.

3. Information Stored Locally on Your Machine

To provide a seamless, stateful editing experience, our application utilizes standard browser storage technologies (HTML5 localStorage and IndexedDB):

• fmg_theme: Remembers your display preference for light or dark mode.
• fmg_projects / IndexedDB: Stores your saved map projects locally on your hard drive so you can resume work across browser sessions without losing edits.

This data resides entirely within your personal browser environment. It is never transmitted across the network to us, and you can erase it at any time by clearing your browser cache and local storage.

4. Server Logs & Technical Infrastructure

When you load our website, our global Content Delivery Network (Cloudflare) automatically records standard server access logs required to deliver web assets and defend against denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks. These logs may include:

• Internet Protocol (IP) address;
• Browser user-agent string and operating system;
• Referring website and timestamp of the request;
• Requested static asset URLs (e.g. scripts, stylesheets, fonts).

These technical logs are used exclusively for security monitoring, cache optimization, and error diagnosis, and are automatically purged on a standard rolling schedule.

5. Cookies and Web Analytics

We do not use tracking cookies, behavioral ad-targeting pixels, or cross-site fingerprinting scripts. Our site functions identically whether third-party cookies are enabled or blocked.

6. Third-Party Services

We rely on trusted infrastructure providers to deliver fast and reliable static assets:

• Cloudflare: Provides global edge caching, SSL/TLS encryption, and distributed denial-of-service mitigation.
• Google Fonts: Delivers web fonts (Fraunces, Cinzel, Inter) via optimized CDN stylesheets.

7. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA Compliance)

Under global data protection regulations—including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)—users have rights concerning their personal data. Because we do not store personal profiles, map projects, or user databases, we hold no personally identifiable creative data to access, rectify, sell, or delete.

You maintain total physical custody of your creative data through the JSON project export and import tools provided in the studio.

8. Children’s Privacy

Fantasy Map Creator does not knowingly solicit or collect personal information from children under the age of 13. Because our service does not collect personal data, it is safe for students, educators, and creative writers of all ages.
